This project aimed to enhance the user experience of the Services Australia website by implementing a dark mode feature. Approximately 20% of Services Australia customers are already using device-based dark mode features. Considering the potential of improving the experience for such a large segment of the sites audience, The design and development of dark mode began.

An initial period of desktop research and stakeholder engagement laid the foundation for later rounds of design iteration and user testing. This ultimately led to a public beta of dark mode going live on the 25th of May 2023 before a full public launch months later.
